Sophia’s practice has since expanded to include painting, collage, and photography, evolving into a richly layered exploration of form, texture, and storytelling. Her deep interest in human origins and the evolution of our species informs her work, driving her to explore the human condition through themes of connection, memory, and shared experience. She is especially drawn to how art can function as both a reflection of and a response to the complex forces that shape identity and community. Guided by a commitment to intentionality, Sophia sees her career as a movement from individual creative capability toward shaping collective memory—drawing inspiration from anthropologist Eric Wolf’s modes of power.
